Level 1
Never sewn before or need a refresher of basic skills & terminology.

Level 2
Taken Uber Basics OR know the following parts/skills without help:
* Identify & adjust the pattern selector, stitch length, stitch width, & tension
* Thread the machine
* Wind, load, and bring up the bobbin thread
* Backstitch
* Follow accurate seam allowances
* Basic pinning, cutting, & ironing methods
* Understand basic sewing terminology (back stitch, seam allowance, etc.)
* Comfortable using a sewing machine

Level 3
Comprehends the following skills
* Working with interfacing
* Working with facings & linings
* Basic zippers & closures
* Buttonholes & buttons
* Casings
* Top Stitching
* Sew straight, curved, & eased seams
* Ability to follow multiple step directions
* Basic hems & finishing methods
* Basic understanding of commercial patterns

Level 4
Comprehends the following skills
* Advanced zippers & closures
* Surface Sewing (patch pockets, embellishments, appliqué)
* Sewing stretch fabrics (knits, woven, non-woven)
* Intermediate hems & finishing methods
* Making and installing piping & cording
* Ability to follow complex directions

Beginner 1
Never knitted before or need a refresher of basic skills & terminology.

Beginner 2
* Understands knit, purl, and combination stitches
* Comfortable casting on and binding off

Intermediate
* Has completed several beginner projects
* Understands basic knitting patterns and terminology
* Can increase and decrease stitches
* Knows how to fixed dropped stitches
